Order Before Winter

A building ordered too late does not protect anything this year. Here are current lead times, and the last realistic date to order so it is standing before December.

These dates are calculated from current build times, which move with demand and weather. Treat them as a planning guide, not a guarantee — and call us if you are close to the line, because we can often tell you same-day whether it is achievable.

What Those Weeks Are Actually Spent On

Lead time is not one queue. Knowing where it goes tells you which parts you can influence and which you cannot.

1. Order confirmation and specification

Size, colours, doors, windows, anchoring. Fastest when you know what you want — the 3D builder gets this sorted before you call.

2. Manufacturing

The bulk of the wait, and the part nobody can shortcut. It moves with demand, which is exactly why autumn is easier than spring.

3. Delivery scheduling

Routing a truck and crew to your site. Usually a week or two, longer if access is difficult or the weather closes in.

4. Installation

Most residential installs finish in a single day — provided the site is ready. If it is not, this is where the timeline breaks.

Three Ways to Move Faster

Buy from stock

Buildings already built at a lot skip manufacturing entirely, which is most of the wait. You give up some choice on colour and configuration; you gain weeks.

Prep your site now

Site prep runs in parallel with manufacturing, so doing it early costs you nothing and removes the most common cause of a delayed install. It also gets much harder once the ground freezes.

Tell us your deadline

If you have a hard date, say so when you order. We will tell you honestly whether it is achievable and what would have to change — rather than you finding out in November.

Lead Time Questions, Answered

They are current estimates from our production schedule, and this page recalculates the order-by dates from them rather than showing figures typed in months ago. They still move with demand, weather and supply, so treat them as a planning guide. If you are near the line, call us and we will give you a same-day read on whether your date is realistic.

Delivery scheduling and travel. Once your building is finished it still has to be routed onto a truck with a crew and driven to your site, and we schedule geographically rather than strictly in order. Two weeks is typical; it stretches if access is difficult or the weather turns.

Often, yes. The limits are practical rather than seasonal: the truck needs a route in that is not ice or deep mud, and the site needs to be level and clear enough to set the building. We would rather reschedule than tear up your property getting in, which is the real argument for ordering earlier rather than later.

We reschedule, and you go back into the delivery queue rather than keeping your original slot. That is the single most common cause of a building arriving later than the customer expected. Site prep runs in parallel with manufacturing, so start it as soon as you order.

Rarely, and you pay for the wait in a different currency: another winter of equipment sitting out. Spring is also the industry rush, so lead times lengthen just as demand peaks. If you need the building for winter, ordering now is both faster and no more expensive.

Yes. Manufacturing is the largest single block of the timeline, and an in-stock building has already been through it. What remains is delivery scheduling and install — typically a couple of weeks rather than a couple of months.
